Musical «Chicago» encerra a sua actividade em Londres, depois de 15 anos de um tremendo sucesso.

Ao longo dos seus 15 anos de exibição, «Chicago» foi inaugurado em 1997 no teatro 'Adelphi', no West End londrino [a zona dos teatros por excelência], foi mais tarde transferido para o teatro 'Cambridge', mudando-se posteriormente para sua casa atual no teatro 'Garrick' em 2010. Encerra a sua temporada londrina a partir de 1 Setembro próximo. Ainda tem o mês de Agosto para poder ver o musical.

Ao longo destes 15 anos, só em Londres, facturou mais de 120 milhões de libras.

Como se sabe, deste musical foi feito um filme com o mesmo título, que foi um tremendo sucesso de bilheteira, com Catherine Zeta Jone e Renee Zelwegger. All that jazz! 

O produtor Barry Weissler, assim que percebeu o sucesso do musical, não hesitou e produziu outras peças ao redor do mundo, sempre com um tremendo êxito: New Iork, São Francisco, Chicago, Austrália, companhias itinerantes, etc. 

Tive a oportunidade d ever esta peça 2 vezes em LOndres, uma em Nova Iorque e

 em cinema / vídeo, nem sei as vezes que visualizei.
